Maria Lee
Had gone drinking
In the Cosmos Bar
Where she met her lover
Sam Adams.

She woke up alone
In a strange room
She had no idea
Where she lost
Her left shoe.

Sam Adams woke her up
With a cup
Of much need hot coffee

And commented
That she had lost
her lucky left red shoe.

She glared at him
And said

“You know my rule.
No more questions
Until I have had my coffee

Sam wisely walked away
Giving her space
She was just
not a morning person.
