a fine pale essence of serenity
The colors fawn and burnt umber
(pale and glowing) ripple and pulse in my mind
I cast my brush into the paint
lightly swirling
seeking and not quite finding
the liquid shapes
they elude my mind and the brush
but I perceive a flutter
but, alas, it does not engage.
I put away the brushes and pen
to try again later.
