A poem about struggles of childhood on the road
Being the new kid
I just wanted a friend
Moving place to place
Never seemed to end

I had no stability
No place to call home
It’s confusing for a kid
When all you do is roam

Living on the road
Was tough on its own
My father would beg
To catch us a bone

He’d hold up a sign
That read “Family Of Five“
To get money, food and shelter
For us all to survive

My parents would fight
From day in and day out
Focused fully on money
What it was always about

We didn’t have much
And things always went wrong
I still wouldn’t change my past
It’s what made me so strong
