Causes and results
                Her Price

Her mother slaps and kicks her,
wounds with her tongue.
She hides in the corners because she can't run.

Her price is fear

The teacher says, "Come see what I have."
She learns how love tastes.
And hides under a lunch table, looking for safe.

Her price is self-value.

The boyfriend tells her how wonderful she is.
But she learns that he lies.
He demands she obey him, doesn't listen to cries.

Her price is pride.

The husband says, "I promise to love you
and will keep you safe."
then beats her and takes her 'till not much is left.

Her price is faith.

The lawyer says, "Oh yes, we'll win this one.
I will handle this"
Then tells her to be quiet, saying, " Give me a kiss".

Her price is dignity.

Her brother says, "Come.  I'll rescue you from Hell."
Then backs her into nothing,
as his wife offers no help and starts with the crushing.

Her price is life
