A Long Debacle: A Horrific Sadness

The longest war ended - our warriors still supported from crazy causes by global truth.

Holding on to trust, forbearance -
Safely getting people out -
Would just provide much pride, assurance;
A braver, cleaner world, no doubt!

Leaning toward a steadfast deadline;
Ending hardship, twenty years.
Idolizing stings - a headline -
Politics achieving tears…

Many soldiers killed, dismembered.
Accountable, yet never certain.
All the victims now remembered,
A scary future raised that curtain…

A nation’s exit claiming lives -
Breaks our hearts, each woman, man…
Stole a bunch of husbands, wives…
A ceaseless, tortured, crazy plan.

A cancer plaguing all our troops;
Standing highest, double-fault…
Social goodness always dupes…
Second, third-world’s grain of salt…
