A fond goodbye to a Queen we loved
The glens of Scotland said goodbye
To one who served them well.
We could almost see her smiling,
Despite the tolling bell.

A daughter’s honour
To take her mother home.
Leaving behind them
The deer that roam.

Returned to her Palace,
But not for too long.
Private mourning
Was about to be gone.

Leaving with grandeur at 2.22
To arrive so promptly at three.
For five days to Lie in State,
So the whole world could see.

So many came. Stopped!
Bowed their heads....
In honour of their Queen.
