The Light

In the darkened depths
of this silent tomb,
light still finds a way.

Illuminates
a single spot
with the light of day.

Within that light,
a young man stands
his back against the wall -

keeping to the light,
Heaven sent,
to guard against his fall.

For the darkness is
cold and sinister,
it creeps in where it can.

And only Light
can conquer the dark
to prevent the fall of man.
