day in the life

My Basset Hound puppy
as cute as can be -
Those eyes, those ears!
Melts my heart completely

His forays into the
afternoon shadow
His howl at the sound
of the train in the distance

And in the glowing of an
evening red sunset
He answers the call of nature
with a howl in the night


Oh, my Basset Hound puppy,
How I love your spirit
And the love you give
so unreservedly
