Reuniting

in a Staccato poem

It brings tears of joy to have you come back
after years spent on military track.
My friend! My friend! No one is left,
so I have become quite bereft
since my mama and papa passed away.
My friend, I do hope that you plan to stay.

The holidays will be full of misery
without the remedy of your company.
Thank you! Thank you for being here
to provide relief from the drear!
Their passing has caused disastrous effect.
Thank you for helping me reconnect.
