It’s such a tiny thing
This twisting silver spring
It’s amazing how much
Depends on such a simple thing
And how much fails
When a spring is gone

For want of a spring
Mattresses, couches, and chairs fall apart
For want of a spring
Pinballs cannot be launched
For want of a spring
A receipt cannot be sliced off the roll

Some many shiny springs
On which so much relies
It's amazing to see
How much fall apart
Cascading into disaster
And all for want of a spring
