Less Than a Month

Where did this year go?

How did it happen?
My back was not turned,
Thanksgiving is over
(Gratefully, nothing burned) -

But here it is
Not even sublime
Less than a month
It's Christmas time !!

The tree is decorated,
But that's hardly enough
Where is the wrapping paper and tape?
I have to get tough!

Planning and hiding presents
Cooking some more
This holiday's a whirlwind
My brain is very sore

Soon this year will be over
And I'll be able to slow down
That is until I enter WdC contests
I hope I don't drown
