New relationships-new challenges

Are you into me? I’m trying to see
We sing we play, it seems to be
then judgements rise; we spin away
We hurt our love by things we say
Tempers rise fast and high
We strive to squelch but can’t deny
our struggles are real but can we find
a place in the middle where we can be kind

This feeling that I have today Is one I’ve tried to keep away
My pain is real so it lets me know
that what you say makes me so low
I strive to find some middle ground
where you will find me pure and sound
But instead it seems you’re trying to find
ways to protect yourself in kind
Searching for things to protect your heart
So we don’t tear each other apart

Look now ahead and try to see
Another way to look at me
I’m here with you in this time now
I’m hoping that we can somehow
Mend and grow try to be
The power that we both can see

Let's take the time to be patient and kind
and not quick to react and be so blind
It’ll strip away the things that bind
We’ll ruin the path and fall aside
to the place we know is bland and dry

Come with me now and fix this day
So we can again sing and play
