| To study a leaf; in great detail, requires much thought and patience. Every line is a vein showing through its translucent surface. Every shadow cast by light must be captured. Every colour variation must be considered and acknowledged. The gentle breeze that once caressed its surface And the strong gust that pulled it from its branch Is still present and alive within that leaf. It has great capacity to store energy, And to grow; It has the strength of its experiences and memories inside To guide it to a place where its life and sacrifices will not be forgotten. To fall to the ground and become nourishment for the very ground the tree it came from grows. Thus, from death breathes a new life. |
