A Cats Prayer

Animals cross their paws while humans fold their hands in a praying position.

I lay here praying,
for a human of my own.
To be one with you always, not
some throwaway when I’m grown.

You need to love
me always
As we lay under
the suns rays.

We will love you
with no conditions,
reciprocating so we know,
we are not an imposition.

I lay here praying you
will keep me forever.
For if you adopt us,
it’s a lifelong endeavor.

That you will always
be our loving friend.
Even as our time,
comes to an end.

This
is
my
prayer.
