An alien planet is lifeless, but not void.

Countdown expiring,
They're on their way.
Three astronauts are leaving today,

To a new planet,
these brave adventurers arrive,
Narry a soul able to survive.

The ground is shaking,
rocky and bare,
Hark, a light! Let's beware.

A cloud of dust,
rises into the air,
the astronauts can only stare.

Coming toward them,
With a loud clatter,
A mass of jumbling matter.

Rides of great wonder,
Coasters galore,
All moving and more.

No one was riding,
No laughter rung,
just amusement unsung.

The astronauts were lifted,
by arms unseen,
and placed in the teacups so keen.

Dizzy and whirling,
the astronauts did ride,
as the park continued to glide.

The circled the planet,
in a constant daze,
their origins now seemed to be a haze.

Suddenly the ground,
came to be still,
the rides stopped, no longer a thrill.

The ground opened up,
The amusements swallowed whole,
The travelers left with only their soul.

Countdown to liftoff,
no one would believe,
the amusement park alien,
and the story they'll weave.
