I never gave up

I have lived many years
My life has been long
I have controlled my fears
I’ve gotten along

When young I fell in love
A feeling so strange
Surely sent from above
A young man can change

I knew she was the one
The one for my life
All looking now was done
She would be my wife

Young men can be stupid
A girl can mislead
Disturbed by what he did
Why did he believe?

He lost the one, his love

He prayed to God above
