Met in the street for all the town to see. |
The Ballad of Sally and Buck Sally had enough of Buck philandering around. She called him out into the street and planned to gun him down. Buck obliged and met her there, cocky as could be, for up his sleeve he held an ace for all the town to see. Second floor, Hank's Saloon stood Betty Lou, town flooze, Rifle at the ready-- Sally would surely lose. When time came, fly buzzed 'round Betty Lou's perky nose. Sneeze rang out and then the shot, Buck wobbled for a minute. He fell boots up, and looked up, asking, "Why did I not win it?" Betty Lou led away, Buck dead in sun, Sally smiled for she knew, 'bout Betty Lou and put dead mouse on second floor, Hank's Saloon Room 82 where Betty Lou would lay in wait. Dead mouse drew flies into her eyes and nose did cause a sneeze. The deed is done and Sally won. For all the town to see. Line Count 32 |
