The Derg-Back Flash

A flashback from the commissioner's memories.

The commissioner thought back to the early days of The Derg's appearance. At first the town was uneasy as the 12ft reptile patrolled the skies but soon enough the citizens realized that they were being protected, not hunted. The commissioner would never forget the first heroic act that showed there was a superhero in their midst. A plane had gone out of control & was about to crash downtown when she appeared. She clutched the plane in her claws and using her super derg strength helped the pilot glide the plane down into a downtown park lake. The people who witnessed the event cheered and gave an outstanding applause as she flew away already back to her patrol as if what she had done was no big deal.

It was the day after that event that The Derg showed up in his office. He had gone to work as usual, but upon unlocking his office he found her laying on the floor. After the brief pleasantries and introductions she gave him a special whistle that only she could hear. The commissioner was to blow it if anything really bad were to happen. She then flew out the window and disappeared into the city skyline.

The commissioner brought his mind back to the present. A big bust had been made & the notorious bank robber "Baby Face" Moe was finally apprehended. The city was now able to sleep a little more easy with yet another criminal behind bars. Or so he thought...
