Beneath One Distant Spring

Time to reflect

The sun warms the earth
Bringing forth new buds
Awakening life from a dormancy
That has lasted through
A bitter winter.

Beneath a sky of azure blue
Not a cloud in sight.
I sit and reflect on days gone by...

When youth dripped with glorious colour
It boisterous call our anthem
We sang our hearts out.
Dipped our toes into the future
And shone like a beacon
leading us home
And reminding us that
We, in our authenticity,
were where we needed to be.

As I consider my future
I steady myself in a past
That has built me as I am.
Each experience grounding me
With a foundation as sturdy
As it is enduring.

Distant spring reminds me
Of all I have
And my heart is grateful for that
It will keep me warm
As I move forward
Into the future
It's brilliance yet to be known.
