A giant Octopus
And their cousins
The legendary Kraken
Stand guard over
The mermaid's secret lair.

No human has ever been there
The mermaids are happy
To keep us humans at bay.

Their spies are everywhere
And tell them
How humans are destroying
The surface world.

The mermaids are concerned
That humans may someday
Discover their hidden lair.

Which contains a gateway
To their original homeworld
Sirius the Dog Star.

And if humans ever approach
The inner sanctum
The mermaids will flee there.

Leaving the Octopus
And the Kraken behind
To deal with the unruly
Human intruders.
