Basking in the Sunlight

As a cat relaxes in the sunlight.

Basking in the sunlight,
laying on her perch.
She’s watching the birds
flying to and fro from the birch.

The glow of the sunlight
glistens off her fur.
Feeling that warmth
is making her purr.

While basking in the sunlight
for a long enough time.
She flips to her other side
to give it an equal shine.

The time has now passed
as the sun goes in.
From a cat’s point of view,
not to, would have been a sin.

She’s all rested and
with a loud meow,
she wiggles her butt as
she struts off with a smile.
