Prompt: A 100 word story involving a crime.

The bushfire roared through the small town of Kunjorup. How had it started? Everyone wanted to know. There were rumours of a fire starter, an arsonist. People in the town’s people had suspicions about their neighbours, friends, even family members. They all knew someone who was capable of such a thing. Until Selene, the beauty of the village was accused of trying to burn them all in their beds.

A Witch? They tied her up and threw her in the river. Alas, she didn’t float. Maybe she was innocent after all. But the fires stopped burning from that day forward.
