Outline 3 of my novel |
| I. The incident: A. Eleven years had passed since five teenagers from five Council Worlds unintentionally arrived on Earth and changed humanity forever. Five human teenagers, with one diplomat parent arrive in the neutral system of the Galactic Council headquarters. They are to negotiate trade relations, military alliances, and further cultural exchanges. B. The Unexpected Welcome: The Insecta hivemind, overlooked as non-sentient, performed a welcome dance on the hull of the newcomer's vessel. This sparked a primal fear in the humans as they interpreted the dance as an angry, giant insect swarm attack. C. The Panic: In a desperate move to protect their children, the diplomat parents each put their child in a separate one person escape pod in the hopes of them all reacting the Galactic Council. However, in their haste, they forgot to program the escape pods with a specific destination. The escape pods instead flew towards the nearest compatible world within range. The miscalculation brought immediate panic. This panic was increased as the telepathic voices of the Insecta hivemind reached the diplomats. This created a race against time to retrieve the children in time to prevent a catastrophic diplomatic incident. Details: The Galactic Council knew of these worlds but had disregarded them or saw them as no threat. This made the incident more than a diplomatic nightmare but also a scandal that could cost the Galactic Council dearly. II. The Arrival A. Each teenager is welcomed by the planet's inhabitants. 1. Crystal Spring is welcomed by the Insecta hivemind and Flora Collective. She quickly discovers that their language is untranslatable to council technology but human translators and telepathy can translate. because of the language gap, both civilizations were overlooked and taken advantage of by using machines to steal their honey and fruits. 2. Sonny Summer is welcomed by the Rockers of Silicon Prime. He quickly discovers that, due to the planet's hostile environment, no council member bothered to check if there was a civilization living in the mountains rising above the dunes. Due to this oversight, it was assumed the life extending spice in the sand was free for the taking and the Rockers were no more than nomadic savages. 3. Auburn Autumn is welcomed by the Primallans of Primalla. She quickly discovers that the council only scanned the planet for cities, not knowing the Primallans build their communities in the trees. Because of this oversight, the planet became a dumping ground for the council worlds discarding their obsolete ships and technology. 4. Gale Winter is welcomed by the Mythos of planet second Earth. He discovers that the Council viewed them as too primitive to make first contact; not realizing they are far more ancient and advanced that the Council could possibly imagine. Due to this arrogance, Second Earth has been completely ignored. Their planet has become an unwelcome vacation destination. 5. Luna Solstice is welcomed by the Specs of planet Goliath, 'super Earth' the size of Saturn. She quickly discovers, due to their size, the council completely overlooked them. Due to this oversight, the specs are ignored and Goliath is used for resource allocation. B. Each junior diplomat negotiates with overlooked world. 1. Crystal Spring documents the drones that invade Hyve, what they steal and testimony from the two governments. 2. Sonny documents the council mining companies stealing the world's spice with mobile mining platforms. Interviews the world council. 3. Auburn documents the dumping grounds and its affect on the environment. Interviews the world's council elders. 4. Gale documents the influx of trespassers, the damages they cause and interview the world's government leaders. 5. Luna documents the theft of precious natural resources, damages to the tiny communities and interviews government leaders. C. Each junior diplomat finds solutions for each world 1. Crystal teaches the Insecta hivemind how to use their numbers to overwhelm the drones and the Flora to use their natural defenses to destroy the drones. This proves the inhabitants of Hyve are sentient and are taking a stand. 2. Sonny teaches the Rockers how to domesticate the apex predators of silicon prime to protect their spice and make themselves known to the Galactic community. 3. Auburn shows the Primallans how they can turn obsolete junk into advanced tech and sell it for a high profit so to gain a seat and influence in the Council so to gain reparations and a reputation as an advanced civilization. 4. Gale helps the Mythos of Second Earth rediscover their advanced technology so they can make clear their world does not have a 'free admission' for tourists. 5. Luna helps reactivate an exosuit factory that converts the exosuits into a fleet of spaceships to defend their world and make clear their world is not uninhabited and the specs are taking a stand. Details: 1. Crystal tracks the drones to a Mammalian Nomad species who call themselves the Multi-world Pirate Consortium and uses a version of the welcome dance to disable the pirate fleet and summon the Galactic Council peace keeping fleet. They later learn the pirates were hired by the Shadow Collective; an organized crime syndicate. 2. Sonny helps train the Vibration Worms to disable the mining platforms and inspect them and discover they were sent by an entity known as Spice Industries. Sonny then led the legal battle to obtain restitution for the beings of Silicon Prime. 3. Auburn helps the Primallans learn how to make the obsolete tech better than what was considered top of the line by infusing the obsolete tech with their highly advanced biotechnology. This led to their influx of wealth and influence. 4. Gale helps the Mythos rediscover their forgotten technology, still more advanced than the Galactic Council after several millennia, the Mythos were able to gently stop all tourism on their world and demand restitution from the Interplanetary Tourism Corporation for running a tourism racket without their authorization. 5. Luna helps the Specs mass produce humanoid ships with a long abandoned but still functional mech factory to bring the automated mining machines to a halt and demand restitution from the Galactic Council department for resource management. III. The Return A. Each diplomat leads a diplomatic envoy from each world. 1. The Queen herself of the Insecta Hivemind and the elder tree himself travel to the Galactic Council in a single living spaceship and speaks for their people while returning Crystal unharmed as their diplomat representative. 2. The Crystalline elder, with an escort guard travels to the Galactic Council on a gravity driven ship and speaks for his people while returning Sonny unharmed as their diplomat representative. 3. The lead elder Primallan with an armed escort travels to the Galactic Council in one of their highly advanced ships and speaks for his people while returning Auburn unharmed as their diplomatic representative. 4. The elder Phoenix travels to the Galactic Council under her own power and speaks for her people while returning Gale unharmed as her world's diplomatic representative. 5. A small fleet of Goliath humanoid ships fly to the Galactic Council and the Specs reveal themselves before their leader speaks for his people while returning Luna unharmed in a space worthy flying exosuit as their diplomatic representative. Details: The parents of the children are relieved their children have returned unharmed and proud that they have become full fledged diplomats to the five overlooked or ignored worlds. A diplomatic incident is averted but a damming Galactic Council scandal needs major damage control. Fortunately, the five teenage diplomats are able to help the Galactic Council come to a fair agreement with the five worlds. IV. The Conclusion A. Each junior diplomat becomes official diplomats B.
