Titus tries broccoli for the first time. - Writer's Cramp Entry. |
| Titus sat down with a frown on his face, Staring at broccoli; a cruel leafy disgrace. "Too green, too weird, too much like a tree, Why must this horror be served up to me?" His Dad simply smiled, gave a knowing look, "You loved green dinosaurs, you loved that book! Broccoli’s just trees for a tiny T-Rex, Take one little bite: no need to be vexed!" Titus was doubtful but gave it a try, Then scrunched up his nose and let out a sigh. "It’s mushy! It’s weird! I don’t like the taste! This whole broccoli thing is clearly a waste!" But Dad had a plan, a sneaky delight, He melted some cheese; what a glorious sight! Titus looked close, then widened his eyes, "Wait...this looks better! A cheesy disguise!" One little nibble, then two, then three, Titus declared, "Hey, this isn’t so bad for a tree!" With cheese or with butter (but never at all; plain), He’d eat it again; though he’d still complain. |
