Just a short horror story!

In old boarding house on the outskirts of town, a university student name Elliot had just move into his room. The house was strange - cold, even on to warmest days - and there was one hallway that seemed longer than it should be. the end of that hallway was a small window, hallway covered by a dusty grey curtain.

The landlady, a frail old women named Mrs. Holloway. had a given a simple warning when move in:
"Whatever you do, don't open that curtain. just leave it be."

One story night, a power went out. the house was silent. almost too silent, when Elliot heard it - a soft whisper like a child crying. coming from the end of hallway. curios and uneasy. he grabbed his flashlight and walked toward the window.
As he got closer, the sound changed. it became clearer.
"please... help me... I'am trapped..."

The curtain swayed slightly. as if someone touched it from the other side, Elliot hesitated. his hand trembled as he reached out and slowly pulled the curtain aside.
What he saw wasn't the backyard. it was a room - dark, upside down - like a mirror world. inside stood a little girl, her skin pale, her eyes pitch black. she smiled at him, crooked and eerie.
She place her hand on the glass. the window rattled violently.

Terrified, Elliot stumble backward and ran to his room. slamming the door shut. the next morning, he confronted Mrs. Holloway. she simply sighed and said, "I warned you. that curtain keeps their world out of ours. once they know you can hear them.. they never stop calling."
Since that night, the hallway grew colder and every evening, without fail, the crying begin again.
