Blink of an eye

My first book i started 3 years ago i just worked on it time to time its not good sorry!

I was working at Mcdonald's as a full-time assistant manager,
“Daymont your shift is over,” my manager says to me.
(Finally) I thought to myself, Hi my name is Daymont. I'm 17 years old & I live with my mom, I work at Mcdonald's & I'm in high school. When I was younger my parents got a divorce, I was 4 so I barely remember it. I don't see my dad anymore so I barely remember him. My mom told me he got a new family & moved to California so we NEVER talk about him.

After I changed back into my normal clothes I got on my bike & started pedaling happily, as I was riding my bike back home I ran into my crush, Jessica. Jessica is the love of my life, but her parents are very strict so basically, the only times I get to see her is at school.
We have been best friends since kindergarten but I started having a crush on her in middle school. I'm in high school now & I still haven't confessed.
“Hey Jessica,” I say
“Hi Daymont,” Jessica says.
“How are you?”I say
“Good, how about you?”
“Doing alright. Ok see ya later” I say
I get home & change into very formal clothes & grab my go bag just in case.
“Honey it’s time to go,” My mom says
We get into the car & drive to the church. If you didn't know we are going to my grandfather's funeral.
He died 3 months ago from a heart attack,
We take our seats & the funeral starts, I see a lot of my relatives & my grandfather's friends. Even his dog spots are here. After a few hours, the funeral’s over,
“Honey time to go,” mom says
“Hold on mom,” I say.
As she walks out the door I walk over to the pictures of my grandfather. Everyone had already left so I’m the only person in the room now. Suddenly the lights go out & I feel a cool breeze brush past me, It gets very cold in the room. Something feels weird about this like a new feeling in my body. Then suddenly the lights come back on & it gets warmer. I run to the car and hop in with my mom. I still feel the weird feeling in my body though. When we get back I see my bike outside when.
(I probably forgot to put it away) I think
“Honey dinner time!”My mom says. As I walk into the doorway I’m suddenly standing at my grandfather's house in just a blink of an eye.
I’m confused, scared, and sad. The only light I see is from the moon. All of the memories from times in our cabin, fishing, going to dinner together,
I feel tears drop from my eyes, I get up, wipe the tears off & look around. “I can do this”, I said. I walk inside and look around. For some odd reason I don't remember this interior, yet I see pictures of relatives, I have a confused face as I walk around the house. I grab my bag & grab my phone, I try to call my mom but It fails.

While I walk through the doorway I'm suddenly at Jessica's house within half a second. I look at her door and knock on it. She opens the door with a confused look on her face, We start talking about what happened. I try to explain as clearly as I could but I am still very confused. After that Jessica calls my mom & explains what happens. I decided to fill the air with a simple sentence.

“I like you, Jessica,” I say
“Like a lot, & I have liked you for a while now but I never felt the courage to tell you,” I say
“Wow, that's a lot, but I feel the same way!”
“Wanna go over to my house?”I say,
“Yes please,” Jess says
We each crawl through the window, and we run to my house but as we go through the doorway we are suddenly both standing at my father’s house in just a blink of an eye.
I look down and see that we are holding hands. I run through the doorway and I am suddenly in an unknown apartment. I feel that weird feeling I felt back at the funeral. I bang on the door & scream for help.
(There's no use)I think. I reach to grab my go bag but it's not there. I notice a window to the far right of the apartment, I grab a small wood table, climb onto it, open the window and I climb out & find myself on a familiar street. (Where are you, Jessica)I think
I walked for a couple of hours & I finally reached my house. I climb in through the window & run to my mom, I explain what happened to my mom but by her facial expressions, I can tell that she thinks I'm crazy.
“Mom, I'm being serious,” I say
“Tell me what happened, I was about to call the police. I thought someone had kidnapped you” mom says.
“Ugh I'm going to bed,” I say
“Goodnight,” mom says
After dinner, I go to my room & fall asleep…
*yawn*
I wake up in my bed & but nothing is normal. I'm in a different place, a field of dandelions. It was sunset & the clouds looked like cotton candy, The field of dandelions looked like it went on for miles.
“Ohhh it's a dream,” I think
“Wait, how can I hear my thoughts” I wake up on the ground with no blankets or anything. I get up & walk through the door of my room hoping for the best, I close my eyes and hop through the door, I open them & I'm suddenly at a public pool. It is dark & scary. The only thing I can think about is where Jessica & my go-bag is. I get scared as I walk around as feel the water at the bottom of my feet. Suddenly I hear a slight voice and I find myself falling into the pool.
“HELP, HELP ME PLEASE” I yell I start kicking and thrashing my body. After all, I don't know how to swim. I look around looking for a ledge to climb onto, I see a ladder a couple of feet away & try to swim to it, I use all of my strength still holding my breath to get there & I finally achieve my goal. I climb onto the floor & lay there for a few minutes but then I suddenly hear a familiar voice coming from behind me. It’s Jessica!
“What are you doing here,” I say
“I don't know, after you disappeared I got lost & I went outside looking for you.”After I gave up I tried finding my house but that failed. After that, I found a cabin & spent the night there. When I woke up it was still dark so I just started looking for you again.”Jessica says
We start walking north & we find ourselves near our block. But as we were walking we realized something…



“Where's my bag……”I say
“Oh my god! It's back at your dad’s house!” Jessica says
“We have to go back!”Jessica says
“No, you stay at my house, we are nearly there I will go,” I say as we approach my house.
“Go in Ill just go through the stages of the house doorways,” I say
We both ran in through the doorway & suddenly I was standing at my grandfather's house. I run through the other door & now I'm at Jessica's house. I ran back through a different door & now I'm standing in a big warehouse. There were no doors or windows. It looked like a big warehouse but with no connection to the outside world. There was barely anything in the warehouse, just a bunch of cages with black towels over them & 2 very beaten-up cars. I walked over to one of the cages & lifted the towel, there was nothing in it so I went over to a similar but different cage. I lifted the towel & inside was a big button attached to the bottom. But suddenly I hear a quiet voice coming from behind a car. I stood there for a few minutes before I thought I could finally move. The feeling of pressing the button filled up my body with curiosity. I opened the cage. I tremble as I reach to press the button. Right as I press it there are suddenly bright red lights flashing around & a group of men runs out from behind one of the cages. I run over to one of the cars & jump in. I see bullet holes, scratch marks, & blood. I try to keep a safe distance from all the damage but it was everywhere, I climb into the back seat & hid under a piece of broken metal. I hide for a couple of seconds and suddenly I see a tall muscular man walk over to the car that I'm in. I hold my breath for a couple of seconds until he opens the car door, he lifts the piece of metal & I close my eyes so tight I thought my eyelids would submerge together, he calls some of the other men over & then I suddenly black out. When I wake up I notice I'm wearing a blindfold. As soon as I hear the door shut I shake off the blindfold. I'm in a small dark room & I'm laying on a bed with a small lightbulb hanging above my head. There are surgery tools and a ventilator to the side of me
(Where am I…)I think
Suddenly a man walks in, he's wearing a matte black suit with a white tie.
“Where am I,” I ask
“You in an observatory, ever since you got that new gift of your’s one of our men has been stalking you,” He says
“WHAT! SO YOU KIDNAPPED ME BECAUSE CAUSE OF WHAT I CAN DO” I yell
“Not just what YOU can do, multiple people can do what you do. Also, scientist jeffy will be coming in soon” the man in black says
“Think daymont,” I say
I try to lift my hands but they are tied to the bed.
“IDEA,” I say
I move my shoulder a little bit & grab my pocket knife with my teeth, I open the knife with my teeth and get a small cut on my lip in the process. I turn the knife to the other side & bend over & start cutting off the rope.
(Finally)I think
I take my right hand & start cutting the rope with my other hand. I finally do it to my left and feet. I get up & hide behind the door waiting for scientist jeffy to come in.
“I'm here,” scientist jeffy says,
I run up to him and knock him out
I run out & this time I keep my eyes wide open, & at that moment I realized how to control my power. When I get out I see a bunch of weird lab supplies, 4 big monitors, & more cages & a huge sign that says
BIONA
At the top of each cage had that sign & a small box, & just as I was about to escape I heard the sound of keys coming from outside the room. I hide behind one of the bigger cages & hold my breath as I am waiting. I see that man that came into my room earlier go & into the lab room I was just in. I run to the door and lock it. As I'm I walk around looking for what I should do I hear a whimper coming from inside the cage. I lifted the towel & in that cage were 3 foxes, 2 babies & 1 adult.
(I think this is an animal testing lab)I think
“Don't worry I'm gonna get you out of here” I whisper
I look around looking for an exit door or a window or anything that these animals can leave in. As I'm looking around I notice 2 very tall metal drawers, they look like they go up to 35 feet high, in the middle of the 2 drawers there is a shelf between each drawer. I look at the SI section but the only way to get up is to climb the shelf imprinted on the drawer it says Secret but I need a key I look on the shelf and continue to go down until I find a wooden box I climb to the top and drop it on the concrete floor I find keys and a lot more stuff I search through and find a gold key that says information and I try the key after many keys and I get it open then I grab some files and a folder that says information but then I realized they test and kill them for information without a permit. I climb back down & look for an exit,
I look all around and notice an exit sign in the reflection of one of the monitors, after that, I look around for a hook with a key & right by the monitor are the keys on top of a ledge. I bolt in the direction of the monitors, grab the keys & lock the lab room that scientist jeffy & the man in black were in, I also lock the door to the outside of the lab. After that, I pull off all the towels & grab the boxes & start unlocking all the cages 1 by 1. After they are all out I lead them to the exit door & we all escape, that time I don't close my eyes & I end up in my dad’s living room within a blink of an eye, I walk around looking for my bag & I see it on the table of the counter. I run over & grab it, just then someone emerges from around the corner. It wasn't my dad nor my dad's girlfriend or anyone I knew.
“Who are & why are you in my house..”The woman says.
“Your house, this is my dad’s house,” I say
“Do you mean the previous owner of this house?”The woman says.
“Maybe I don't know”
“Oh honey, I knew the previous owner of the house & he died 7 years ago in a car crash…. I was one of his best friends & he said ``When I die I want you to keep this house in my family” The woman says.
Pause if you wanted to know why my dad wanted to keep the house in the family is because his dad’s grandpa's dad built this house
I drop my go bag & just stand there motionless. We both just stand there for a few minutes
until she walks over to the door, opens it, and motions her hand as she wants me out. I walk over to the door & within a blink of an eye, I'm standing in the apartment. I see the wooden table & go out like I did yesterday. Once I'm out I call my mom to come to pick me up, I give her the address & within 15 minutes she's already here.
“Now do you believe me,” I say
“Yes, but I'm still very confused about how this is all happening. Maybe I need to take you to the doctor or-” mom says
“NO you can't take me to any doctor or lab, I already have this all figured out,” I say
“Also when I went to dad’s house the new owner said he died,” I say
“Oh, so you know now... I was gonna tell you soon I promise but I just didn't know how you would handle it” mom says
When I get home I see Jessica looking outside my bedroom window. I run inside without blinking & I run up and hug her.
“I found a lab,” I say
‘What?”Jessica says
“A lab, an animal testing lab”
“Wait wait slow down,” Jessica says
“A lab, I teleported to a warehouse & I woke up in this weird room with the sign name called BIONA,” I say
“And look what I got,” I said as I handed her the files.
“It says “specimen zx has gone out of control, we have to kill it. Log 2 We have killed zx and we have the DNA of a human and specimen zx we will now mix them. Log 3 It's destroying the glass we won't last long. Log 4 I survived I shot zx I'm safe only the glass is damaged but the permit is expired. I won't worry, nobody knows. Wow we need to show this to the police BIONA could get shut down” Jess reads out loud
“I say We can't they will just hunt us down we have to think of a different way,” I say
“No it'll work we can show it to the police & everyone working for BIONA can go to jail,” Jess says
“Ok let's go then,” I say
We explain everything to my mom and we get her to drive us to the police station, when we get there we show the police the files and we go on a trip to visit BIONA.
The first thing that I and jess see when we walk in is the man in black. He gives me a weird look when we walk in but when the police walk in he comes over and greets us all.
“Hi hope may I assist you,” He says
“EDWARDO BLACK YOU'RE UNDER ARREST FOR THE TESTING OF ANIMALS AND HUMANS, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT, ANYTHING YOU SAY WILL BE USED AGAINST YOU IN COURT,” The police say.
The police took all of them away & Biona got shut down. 20 years later me and Jessica got married and we had 2 kids. Everything that happened 20 years ago is history, I and Jessica just call it “love problems” I learned to control my power, I got my dream girl, I have 2 wonderful kids & I'm now considered a superhero to hundreds of animals. This journey isn't over yet, but the book is.
