Mr. Gordy had them all listen and I am a hit song.

You want to keep me hidden from the world?

Pretend I am not as good as "My Girl"?

You had to go out and get your whistles wet?

Like I could never compare to Bernadette?

Told everyone I couldn't be a sensation.

I was just in everyones imagination?

Made me feel like I didn't belong.

My poems aren't just the same old song.

Told the world I was destruction and doom.

Left me in 7 rooms of gloom.

I knew it was all phony.

Never had to ask the lonely.

Nothing else can compare.

God said, "don't fear reach out I will be there".

Sent angels to encamp around me from above.

Life is nothing without the one you love.
