yes, there is a chain that we hold on to unlike anything else that binds us in life

Everyone alive is chained by at least one thing
Be it fear, sorrow or a debt so crippling
Some are chained by status, refusing to scratch their social standing
Others are chained by morals, a rather noble restraint in a world full of lust, betrayal and thieving

Surprisingly, chains come in all shapes and colours! like they are our hidden accessories
Pick your chain, what do you want today? to be held down by expectations or shackled by memories?
Though some are not up to us to choose, they are just bestowed upon us
by whom? for what? since when? most of the times no one really knows

One chain, however, stands out for not just being strong but also beloved
A chain that is with us since birth, wrapped around us gently to show us what it means to be loved
We call that chain "mom", "mother" and such
Names that bring warmth when uttered, and we love to say them much

Moms have always been some really strong chains, unyielding to anything
With a will so strong to protect their children, and the mindset to stop at nothing
These chains, they do not just keep you from going reckless or falling down off the cliff of life
They're also a warning to you enemies: in case they trespass then their better bet their life
The warmest restraint came to us as the purest form of love
One we hold on to so tight, ever so thankful to have

Those are mothers, the humans with more than one heart
One beating inside, while the others are thriving each with a new life to start
The most beautiful chain in existence
The only kind of chains that you show no resistance
