Jane Loved It

“Jane! are you ready? I need my shaver,” came Ed’s voice outside the door.

“Don’t come in!”

“Well, then can you hand me my razor?”

“Ah… where is it? It’s not in your usual place.”

“I don’t know. Just let me come in, I can find it faster.”

“OK. Don’t look at me.”

“That’s gonna be tough since I’m looking for something…”

“Well, but be quick, I’ll be in the shower.”

“Ah…” he said looking through the clutter, “Hang on, I must have stuck it somewhere weird… is it in there?”

“No…” Jane said, looking around at everything, “We are not doing very good at neat…”

“Yeah, remember when we got our apartment and my mother rolled her eyes at all the boxes in the living room?”

“I remember, we told her we’d have it all put away after some rest and ‘decisions’ about where things would go… there are still boxes there…”

“Well, it’s only been two years…” Ed laughed, and Jane laughed too. “Opp found my razor!” off he went.

Jane came out of the shower stall and looked around the bathroom, it was really cluttered! Why didn’t they ever clean it up? Suddenly she remembered her own upbringing, their house was always a mess. Even now her mother’s house is usually a mess, whereas Ed’s parent’s house is always clean… But she knew for a fact that Ed’s father never cleaned anything up…

Well! There was no way she was going to do it all! Time for a long talk about cleaning with Ed!

It took a while… but they made it, and Ed actually enjoyed the work. Apparently, he did his own room when he lived at his mother’s. After a short while, Ed became the major cleaner.

All in all, Jane loved it.
