One day a wild wind blew, and thunder crashed all around. There was not much else, except the drumbeat of raindrops against the rooftops. Clouds billowed and grey, hearkening an unseen ominous event.
The following day, as I stepped out to survey the scene, the aftermath of that previous storm, a memory.
My eyes lifted up to the skies, as if to say a silent "Thank you!" to God Above. That is when I looked over at the flagpole! IT had changed. The flag, which usually held an unfurled and gracious symbol of the Freedoms we have been so fortunate to have, now was wrapped and coiled around that pole, in such a way, that it was folded over, hiding the stars!
I don't know about you, (the reader of this) but to me, the literal juxtaposition of the flag, was nature's way of saying how it felt about the goings on here and now.
