A Poem Confronting Doubt

I wanted to quit and let it all go
Take another path and choose another road
Give up on all of my dreams and all my hopes
And go on living life just like before
Nothing else to say nothing to show
Really I don’t want to perform anymore
My life has consequences too you know
So my thoughts are not always exposed
There are things that I must keep down below
But for the sake of my family I choose to grow
I sometimes fear the transformation I must forgo
Because I have not yet reached my plateau
I still have not paid for all the sins I owe
And I have no more DOUBT in escrow
So Slowly through the troubles of life I float
I remember to live my life for ME also
Not for the fame, glory or Money, NO!
Either I love the things I do or I Don’t
Never again will I put my dreams on hold.

Wise men, when in doubt whether to speak or to keep quiet, give themselves the benefit of the doubt, and remain silent
