This is a memoir, a poem, a mile marker in my journey to knowing the divine. |
I could almost see my heart, dying in my hands Beating, separated from the gaping cavity in my chest In the distance, my shadow departed into strange lands Casting a dark figure, chasing the moon in the west My thoughts rang eerily loud, like a howling wind But I heard His whisper, silencing my wailing mind All the broken places He has held together in light A heart of flesh, He already prepared having insight Adonai is my strength and my fortress indeed When my shield dropped in battle, and I was in need The Captain of my salvation The Most High Mighty and wondrous kept me from the enemy nigh 10 000 on the left and 10 000 on the right Elohiym El Elyon I boast in His might When the enemy thought he had me snared Yahuah Tseva’oth brought forth his commanded Scattering the darkness with His pure light After all He did promise, I am daily in His sight Adonai is my delight even in the midst of tempest Darkness scattered my shadow fled the west I now see how from old, new is created With Elohiym there is nothing wasted All the broken pieces He has mended My soul He kept, my spirit He refreshed. |
