Can Airborne Weapons end the Conflicts happening all over Jeesim? Hopefully, they can. |
Airborne Weapons A Short Story Written By SpaceFaction Cascin quickly gets into some darkness as four Jeesims with Small Weapons in their hands run past him. Just then, the side of his clothing’s bottom starts humming and vibrating slightly. While he takes his Communication Device out of his side slit opening, he looks to see these runners. They don’t appear to have noticed what is happening there. As Cascin taps his Communication Device, he brings it up to his mouth so he can speak softly into it. He looks at who is contacting him. “This isn’t the best time to be contacting me, but I’m happy you have contacted me back. I need your help to get out of here alive.” “I have found something that we need to do something about as soon as possible. If I don’t make it out of here alive, you can find this information at…” Cascin stops talking when he hears several Jeesims getting close to him. When these two Jeesims come almost face to face with Cascin, they stop. “Cascin, we know you are in there,” says the female Jeesim. “Come out on her own, or we will be forced to come in there after you.” # A hurt Cascin can barely walk into there. He can’t do it without the help of two other Jeesims helping him on both sides, using his outstretched arms to hold him up. Several other Jeesims run up to him with a floating Examination Sleeper with them. After these Jeesims take Cascin to an Examination Room, they start to check him out. A few minutes later, Gorgana enters. “How is Cascin? Will he be okay? Can he speak?” One of these Jeesims turns to face Gorgana while the others continue checking Cascin out. “Cascin is in very bad shape, but I think he will be okay. As for talking to us, I think he can do it, but he may have some trouble doing it.” Gorgana steps up to Cascin. “How are you feeling, Cascin? Do you feel like talking to us about what you have found out?” Cascin has a lot of problems speaking, but he can speak. “We are right about what we have been hearing. This side of these Conflicts is creating some Airborne Weapons. I have some images of these weapons, both inside and outside of them, but I don’t have them with me anymore.” # The alarms in the Emergency Room start going off, and red and blue lights start flashing all around them. Everyone looks at Cascin, but there is nothing wrong with him. Cascin still looks very bad, but he looks a lot better than he has been recently. Just then, the entrance there slides open, and Mannim enters. Mannim looks like he is also near death, but not as bad as Cascin when he came in there. Suddenly, he starts to fall. Before he falls to the floor there, four other Jeesims run up and stop him from doing this. They help him to an Examination Sleeper, and start looking at him. One of the Jeesims, checking out Mannim, sees that he is grasping something in his closed fist. He tries to open his hand, but he has a lot of problems doing this. Eventually, he opens it. A small Data/Image device falls out of his hand. This Jeesim grabs this device before it falls to the floor there. Gorgana leaves the side of Cascin when he sees what Mannim has in his hand. Cascin can also see what Mannim has. “Is that what I think it is?” Gorgana asks Mannim. # Cascin and Mannim are in Floating Seats as they enter a Meeting Room with a couple of other Jeesims and Gorgana. The other Jeesims help them get settled behind an oblong table while Gorgana goes to the other end of this table. Gorgana places their Data/Image Device on top of an Image Monitor. This Image Monitor automatically comes on. A series of Images starts to appear on this Monitor. Each Image shows a different angle of an Airborne Weapon, both inside and outside of it. “I didn’t know we had two Insiders on this side of these Conflicts,” says Cascin. “We didn’t,” says Mannim. “I was the Insider from the other side of these Conflicts.” “I don’t understand what’s happening here,” says Cascin. “These Images look like the Images that I took of an Airborne Weapons. If they aren’t the same ones, they are very close to being the same.” Gorgana looks at Cascin and Mannim. Then she starts looking at the Images again. “I know what’s happening here. It can mean only one thing. One way or another, both sides of these Conflicts are creating the same or similar Airborne Weapons.” # About two hundred Jeesims are in the center of a large room with around three hundred Image Monitors on the walls surrounding them that are showing Conflicts from all over Jeesim. They are looking at different Conflicts randomly. Each Conflict shows a Conflict happening between both sides of these Conflicts.” They are still looking at them when about twenty-five Airborne Weapons from each side enter these Conflicts. Most of these Airborne Weapons are trying to destroy the Airborne Weapons from the other side, but some of them are attacking the fighters of these Conflicts with rapid-firing, red glowing balls and small spears. One side of these Conflicts is using the red glowing balls, and the other side is using the red glowing small spears. Of course, the fighters are trying to destroy these Airborne Weapons, and some of them are doing it, but most of them are dying because of them. Most of the Airborne Weapons that are being destroyed have been because of the Airborne Weapons from the other side of these Conflicts. Gorgana isn’t looking at these Conflicts anymore. She’s looking at her other Freedom Fighters. “It looks like we are too late to stop these Airborne Weapons.” ### Gorgana isn’t the only Jeesim looking at all the Conflicts on these wall Image Monitors with a shocked look on their face. They can’t believe what they are looking at. Every Conflict shows what remains after the Airborne Weapons joined them. “Are you seeing what we are seeing?” About two hundred of these Image Monitors showing these Conflicts change to an Image of a Jeesim with a shocked look on their faces. In one way or another, all of these Jeesims are saying the same thing to Gorgana. They are saying that they are seeing what she is seeing. “Have any of our Freedom Fighters been affected by these Airborne Weapons?” Gorgana asks these Jeesims. Once again, one way or another, these Jeesims are telling Gorgana the same thing. Gorgana can hardly hear what they are saying, but they are telling her that they have had some Freedom Fighters who have died because of these Airborne Weapons, but most of them who have been affected by these Airborne Weapons have only been hurt by them. “What are we going to do about these Airborne Weapons?” Gorgana asks. “We need to do something, but what?” # “There is only one thing we can do about these Airborne Weapons,” says Gorgana as she walks around a Production Room where they are creating their own Airborne Weapons. “We have to create our own Airborne Weapons, but not only create them, they need to be better than both sides, so that we can destroy their Airborne Weapons before they finish what they have already started.” Gorgana isn’t walking around this Production Room alone. Three other Jeesims are walking around there with her. They are looking at their own Airborne Weapons being created there, but their creations are a lot different than what both sides have been creating. Their Airborne Weapons are about three times as big as the Airborne Weapons on both sides of these Conflicts. They also have small thin tubes sticking out of it from all angles so that they can destroy these small Airborne Weapons in every direction at once. “How many of these Airborne Weapons have you created so far?” Gorgana asks the Jeesim in charge of these Creations. “It depends on how many more Airborne Weapons these sides have created,” answers this Jeesim. “We have about a thousand of our own. Do you think that will be enough?” # A Jeesim runs into the Meeting Room where Gorgana and about a dozen other Jeesims are discussing what they will do next. “We know where both sides are creating their Airborne Weapons. They are both creating them near these Conflicts.” “I was worried it would be something like this,” says Gorgana. “How are we supposed to stop these Airborne Weapons from being created when they are being created all over Jeesim?” “That shouldn’t be a problem,” says the Jeesim in charge of their Airborne Weapons creations as she runs into that meeting room right behind the other one. “We also have been creating our Airborne Weapons all over Jeesim.” Gorgana smiles. “Please tell us we have enough of our Airborne Weapons to destroy these Production Centers.” “We should have enough to destroy most of them,” says the Jeesim in charge. “I don’t know if we have enough to destroy all of them.” “Most of their Airborne Weapons are better than none,” says Gorgana. “We will have to destroy the rest of them during these Conflicts. Speaking of these Conflicts, how soon will we have enough of our Airborne Weapons to stop their Airborne Weapons at these Conflicts?” # Gorgana and about a hundred other Jeesims are looking at the Image Monitors that are supposed to be showing the Conflicts happening around Jeesim that have started up again. Still, it’s not the Conflicts that they are looking at now. They are looking at what remains of the Production Centers where these Airborne Weapons have been created. “How many of their Airborne Weapons are no longer here?” Gorgana asks. “Can they create more of their Airborne Weapons?” “That depends on a lot of these Conflicts,” says the Jeesim who is in charge of their Airborne Weapons. “At some Conflicts, there is very little left of them, and at others, there are some that aren’t completely there, but I don’t think any of them are a threat to these Conflicts anymore. I also don’t think they can create any more Airborne Weapons.” Gorgana starts looking at these Production Centers again. “How many Airborne Weapons are there still out there? Do we have enough of our Airborne Weapons for the remaining sides’ Airborne Weapons?” “They still have several hundred thousand Airborne Weapons for each side,” says the Jeesim in charge of their Airborne Weapons. “I think we have enough Airborne Weapons to stop them all.” # “Both sides have started using their Airborne Weapons again in their Conflicts,” says Gorgana while looking at the wall Image Monitors showing these Conflicts. She isn’t the only one looking at these Conflicts. About two hundred other Jeesims are looking at them. One of them, who is looking at these Conflicts, is the one in charge of their Airborne Weapons. Gorgana turns to face this Jeesim. “Release our Airborne Weapons.” Gorgana returns to looking at these Conflicts just as both sides start using their Airborne Weapons in these Conflicts. These Airborne Weapons are mainly trying to destroy each other, but they are still killing a lot of the fighters below them. Just then, Gorgana and the other Jeesims there watch as their Airborne Weapons join these Conflicts. All of them are trying to destroy the Airborne Weapons from both sides. One after another, they can see their Airborne Weapons destroying these Airborne Weapons. Some of their Airborne Weapons have been destroyed, but most of them haven’t. It’s only a matter of time before the remaining Airborne Weapons on both sides have all been destroyed. “This may solve one of our problems here on Jeesim, but it doesn’t end these Conflicts.” Word Count = 1,982 |
