After dying, Roman awakens as a goblin, vowing revenge on the god who ruined his life. |
It was the end of the school year for Roman, a time he had longed for, eager to break free from the confines of what he called a "hellhole" and embrace the taste of freedom. As he made his way across the street toward his graduation ceremony, a car suddenly appeared, racing toward him. The moment happened so quickly, Roman didn't have a chance to react. The impact was jarring, and he found himself sprawled on the pavement. Around him, a chorus of screams erupted as the scene unfolded. Roman's body lay limp, the weight of what had just transpired began to settle in. He realized he was finally leaving behind the world he had known for years, only to be confronted by the sudden and abrupt end of his journey. As Roman's vision dimmed and the pain went away, he thought about the unfairness of his life. He was finally about to taste the freedom he had yearned for, but that opportunity was snatched away. In those final moments, he couldn't help but think about the life he never got to live. Roman's eyes flickered open, and he found himself in an unfamiliar place, surrounded by endless stretches of grassy land. Panic surged through him. He attempted to rise to his feet, but what he saw was beyond his worst nightmares. His hands had been replaced by gnarled, green claws, and his skin felt different, rough and alien. Terrified, he let out a scream, the sound foreign and chilling. "Where are my hands?" he cried out, unable to comprehend the grotesque transformation that had befallen him. Desperation coursed through him, and he began to run aimlessly, his goblin-like form hobbling awkwardly through the grass. His frantic escape eventually led him to a tranquil lake, its surface reflecting the moonlight. As Roman leaned down to examine his reflection, the shock hit him like a wave. His own reflection stared back at him, but he was no longer human. He had become a goblin, and not just any goblin – it seemed he was a baby goblin, small and frail. Roman couldn't help but let out a weary sigh as he accepted the grim reality. "My life just keeps getting worse, huh...." he muttered to himself. He was now trapped in a new, bewildering world, far from the future he had envisioned for himself. Roman was still grappling with the shock of his new goblin form and the strange world he found himself in when a voice intruded upon his thoughts. The voice, which introduced itself as System 232, claimed to be here on God's behalf, offering Roman a second chance at life due to a supposed mistake. At first, Roman was understandably afraid of the mysterious voice that seemed to come out of nowhere. However, as he absorbed the words and let them sink in, his fear slowly transformed into anger and bitterness. "What do you mean my death was a mistake?" he demanded, his voice trembling with a mix of frustration and disbelief. The voice responded, "You weren't supposed to die for another 20 years. In fact, you were destined to meet your end at the age of 43 from a heart attack. But instead, you were taken too early from this world. God has granted you an opportunity to experience a unique form of leveling up, similar to the games you used to play." Roman's anger and hatred simmered, but the notion of a second chance intrigued him. His life had been snatched away prematurely, and now he had an opportunity to make something of this unexpected twist. With a newfound determination, he decided to listen to System 232 and explore this extraordinary chance for a different kind of existence. |
