”Wake up.” Sherri shook Ron's shoulder again, harder this time. He'd snored right through the light tap and the medium jostle.
“Ummph.” Ron's eyes opened just enough to see who'd roused him out of his dream. His favorite dream. The one with the tall brunette and the thirty-six foot yacht.
“Hurry.” Sherri gestured toward the window. “The sun is coming up.”
“Uhhm.” Ron stretched and yawned. “Why is that important?”
Sherri latched onto his arm and started tugging. “You have to get out of here before my parents see you.”
Ron said nothing, but flung himself out of bed and toward his clothes, which lay strewn from the foot of the bed to the door. But as he was scooping up his shoes, he stopped and turned to Sherri. “Wait a minute. Is this some kind of joke?”
“What do you mean?”
“We've been married for twelve years.”
Not quite fully awake herself, Sherri closed her eyes and shook her head to clear the fog. And only then did she realize she'd been dreaming until moments earlier. Her favorite dream. The one with the tall blond with the green eyes and the BMW.
