A member of a military unit not supposed to exist goes back to Earth for a visit.

Back on Earth, Max Kent stood on the platform of Terra Space Port, looking around him at the chaos erupting all around. Humanity sure has gone downhill since I was last here, he thought. There was only one reason to ever make him think about coming back, even for a short visit, and that was family and duty. He'd paid his respect. Now, he just wanted to get the Hell off of here as fast as he could, before someone recognized his face.

That last mission on Neptune did not go as planned, and half of the unit did not make it out of there. He was blamed and called a traitor. They drummed him out of the service and then put an interstellar price tag on his head. He's been looking over his shoulder ever since. The call for his ship drew his attention to the walkway leading to the landing pad. Three steps forward into his journey, a large Green hand-like thing clamped onto his shoulder. It spun him around, and the thing it was attached to was ugly as hell.

Max stared back into the four-eyed Bounty hunter. Its nostrils flared with every breath. When it opened its mouth to speak, rows of sharp, razor teeth were visible.

"I got you now, Earthling." It loudly stammered out along with a putrid breath that could melt away steel.

"Sorry, whatever you are, but you have the wrong person. I am just a Farmer on a distant planet that came home to visit kinfolk."

The monstrous beast held up a face recognition device next to my head. It started beeping as all get out. This seemed to excite the large fellow something fierce. The grip on my shoulder got more intense. Slowly, I reached for my knife under my jacket and got my hand wrapped around it. The chaos is gone, and silence surrounds us. The station Police start to step up, and the Beast yells out for them to back off.

"This here Earthing is my prisoner, and no one is stopping me from collecting my just rewards." He starts to drag me toward the nearest Starship.

" No one but me!" I shouted out and whipped my blade up and across his large, grimey throat. Blackish, Green blood dribbled down, covering his clothes and onto the floor. making it slippery.

I turned and ran down the walkway away from the scene as fast as I could, bloody knife still in my hand. Everyone gasped and got out of my way. They did not want to get involved. Wish the Station Guards thought the same thing as they chased me. I momentarily lost them going around a corner and jumped aboard the first Ship I came across. An old Freighter is just about to leave the station. I slam the door behind me and set the locking seal. No one can get in from the outside. But, then again, I have locked myself in here with whatever kind of crew there is.

I feel the vibrations through the hull and turn to face three crew members staring at me in disbelief. What had I gotten myself into? I nod toward them, and no reaction is returned. They all go back to work as if nothing had happened at all. Suddenly, over a loudspeaker, a cranky voice asks, "What the Hell just happened? Can any of you Morons tell me why we left our Communications Officer standing on the platform with his thumb up his ass?"

The three crew members look at me, and I shrug my shoulders. A soft chuckle erupts from my lips. One stops working long enough to point to an open hatchway.I wave as I pass them by and enter.
