The best laid plans sometimes fail. 300 words |
Why Does Everything Need A Plan? “What’s the plan?” asked Cameron. “I don’t have one,” Elena replied “We always have a plan for date night!” “I thought we’d be a little more spontaneous tonight.” “I’m not too sure about that,” Cameron said doubtfully. “Let’s just try it for once and see what happens.” As he and Elena drove to a new restaurant, Cameron was a bit nervous. It wasn’t their favorite, just new. When they got there, the place was dark. “Are you sure it’s open?” he asked. “They took my reservation. Let’s go look at the menu while we see what time they open.” So, they did. “Ewww! The dishes are all raw! No thank you!” Elena said with her grossed out face. “It doesn’t open until 10pm. I’d be ready to eat anything, even raw, if I waited four hours!” Cameron commented. “What now, my leader,” he said to Elena. “Let me think,” she snapped at him. He hid a grin. She always got hangry when she didn’t eat on time. “We could go to our old favorite,” he suggested. Elena agreed and they drove two blocks to Vente, their favorite Italian place. The food was delicious as usual. “Now what?” Cameron asked. A movie or an off-Broadway show. I like the second idea,” Elena told him. So, they went to Annie Get Your Gun, only to find out it was a nude production. They left before intermission. “Can we still go to a movie?” Elena asked Cameron. “Sure, which one?” “Annie Get Your Gun at the Bijoux. I love Doris Day!” So, the loving pair went to an old movie. “That was hilarious,” Cameron chuckled. Elena yawned. “I’m ready to go home,” she said snuggling into Cameron’s arm. “Funny what a little planning can do,” he murmured. |
