Just a poem

The flower's duty

So now I'm old

And will be older

Soon by the minute,

The hour, and day

Older is wiser

So, they tell me

What about what

They did not say

About the wrinkles

Covering my hands

And on my face

Around my neck

Or how I keep

Forgetting things

Watching myself

Turn into wreck

Where is the wisdom

That's meant to tell me

The where, and who

The what, and why

Is a flower's duty

To spread the beauty

Then fade away

Wither and die?
