Daily Flash Fiction Challenge

Erica and Sarah were walking in the woods during the fall season, enjoying the leaves. At one point, they noticed a door with writing on it: Do Not Enter.

Erica, “I wonder who put this here.”

Sarah, “Don’t know, but it’s kind of freaking me out.”

“Oh, come on, it’s just a harmless door.”

Erica opened it and walked through. She fell, rolled around, and laughed, “Help!”

When done, she looked back at Sarah, only to see she was gone.

Erica, “Sarah!? Sarah!? Sara, I was only fooling around.”

Must have ran off, she thought, while standing back up.

Suddenly, she heard a faint voice, “Erica!”

“Sarah!?”

“Erica!? I can hear you, but I can’t see you.”

Erica’s heart beat a little faster, “I can hear you, but I can’t see you.”

“Erica, if you can hear me, go back through the door.”

Erica did as suggested, but still couldn’t see Sarah.

“Sarah!? Where are you!?”

SLAM!!!

Erica jumped and turned around to see Sarah laughing.

Erica, “Ok, I’ll admit, you got me.”

Sarah was still laughing.

Erica, “It’s getting late, we should head out.”

At that moment, the door fell, and the two of them sprinted away.
