alligator Alcatraz Linking Poem

alligator Alcatraz Linking Poem

Alligator Alcatraz
Zanny name for the concentration camp
Partially named for the alligators
Surrounding the prison in the Everglades
Some say that it is fascism at work
Kind of a stretch I say, but what do I know
Whether it is or it isn’t beyond my pay grade
Every resident mistreated in the tropical heat
That’s just the way the Florida governor wants it
Trump, too loves the cruelty inflicted on the residents
State of Florida is paying for the prison in the swamp
Perhaps hoping the alligators will get them before long
Gator ICE agents are on the job.

“Linking Poetry Form”

(500) discovered this form. The linking in this form is done by the letters on the end of the previous line, forming the first letter of the next line. Also the last letter of the stanza is the same letter as the first letter of the stanza.

Her notes, printed with her permission:
I quote: This poem takes the last letter of the line before as the first letter of the first word of the next line. For example, the last letter of the first line is the first letter of the first word of the second line. Then the last letter in the second line is the first letter in the third line.

Since I can't find a poetry form with this format, I'm calling it "Linking Poetry Form." End of quote.
