New growth may come every year for a hundred seasons.

Sproutings, green springing
Humid summer heating,
Dried out autumn crisping,
Frigid winter glassing.

Here, birds are dancing
Courtship pattern flying,
Preparing for nesting,
And an eager fledgling.

There, leaves are browning,
Heat or seasons harming,
Flood or fire or failings,
seven hundred sproutings.
