“I don’t have time for this,” I grumbled. I was about ready to swear. Still, I waited.
The woman in line in front of me couldn't seem to make up her mind. She wavered between a biscuit sandwich and an English muffin sandwich. Finally, she made her choice. It took her five minutes to count out the amount for it in change. Seriously?
Finally, I got to the register. "I want a bacon egg and cheese biscuit, hashbrowns, and orange juice."
"I am sorry, we stopped serving breakfast two minutes ago."
I slammed the counter, "You saw me here, I was here with plenty of time to get breakfast!"
"Sorry, my computer no longer offers breakfast options."
"But..."
"You could have used the kiosk."
"I wanted human service. You know the kind that lets you keep your job."
"I'm sorry. The lunch menu is available."
"Do I have enough time to order that? Or should I use the kiosk!"
"If you are going to be hostile I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave."
I looked at my watch. If I didn't get going, I was going to be late for work. I left, now I would be hungry all morning.
