What's our purpose?

James and his friend Alex, were playing in a park near a farm Alex's dad owned, both on swings tied to a tree.

"Hey Alex, what do you think the meaning of life is?"
Well what do you think it is?"
"I think it's to be always happy"
"There must be more to it than that like connecting with other people"
"Well you have to be happy as well"
"But that can't be the whole meaning"

This soon spiraled into a argument that lasted for five minutes.

"Hey, I've got an idea on how to settle this" Alex suggested.

A father was planting seeds in a field when his son and his friend approached him.

"Hey dad, what do you think meaning of life is?"

Clearly startled by the question, he looked at both of them and replied "Leaving an impact"

"What do you mean?"

"Listen boys, you see this tea seed, it will eventually grow in a fully grown tree, this tree is your life. The taller the tree becomes the more branches it produces, these are opportunities, and more branches will spring off those branches. Each branch will produce leaves. These Leaves will eventually be collected for the production of tea which is beneficial to our and other people's health. Your aim is to follow the branch that will produce the most leaves because eventually the branch will stop growing."
"Do you both understand?"

I never thought it like that" James exclaimed.
"I think I get it, thanks dad!"
Then they both ran away.

The farmer had finished his job began to band his bag of seeds together. As he walked away from his field, a small smile formed on his mouth.
