A Drabble (100 words) about a heroic deed, written 9/3/25.

I spotted her at the canyon rim, staring into the void. I assumed she was just enjoying the view, until she said, "Please go away."

I knew nothing about dealing with such a situation, but I had to do something. "I will," I said, "if you'll let me buy you lunch."

She surprised me with a hearty laugh. "A sandwich for my life?"

"Life is a gift. Please don't throw yours away."

She started to cry, and turned away from the brink. I approached, slowly, until I could grab her hand. "Thank you," she said. "Thank you for my gift."
