I think the key word here is 'intelligent'. I think of myself as intelligent and something that has taught me is not to get involved in other people's arguments.

A friend of mine did not have to sense to stay out of it when she witnessed what appeared to be a man abusing a woman. She intervened and the man ran off. The woman then turned on her. It was actually a prostitute trying to get the money she had worked for.

Imagine you are an alien looking down on earth. All you would see is a heap of trouble. I'm sure all the missiles and bomb blasts would be clearly visible. Not to mention the storms and droughts brought about by the way we are treating the planet.

If they are truly intelligent they have probably advanced enough to work together to protect their planet from both their own mistakes and the chance of being attacked by the likes of us. They would see us as a barbarian race and avoid us like the plague.

Forget the future portrayed on TV and in movies; it ain't gonna happen until we learn to get along and work together.
