"What We Didn't Say" by Zacharie Distaso I wait for you needing the quiet to say something real to escape the noise but the silence it feels like pressure makes me ache and I start to fade you look at me like I'm a stranger and I wonder how do I forgive how you forgot that I can't unsee what we were what I've become I bite my tongue raise my voice try to stay soft try to be heard even when you don't and even when I am meet me halfway I still lose myself I reach for you but I built a wall hoping you'll come close afraid you'll stay held out my hands folded up my heart but you turned away and I let everything go still, we can if we both listen try again with fewer fears not who we were something honest but still enough to start from here |
