The struggle of two souls bound by a current. || Originally written July 16th, 2025.

"Capsized"
by Zacharie Distaso

You call me your anchor,
but I feel I am the wreckage,
the drifting debris in the sea
of things I cannot tame.

How can I save you
when I'm slowly sinking too?
You said it yourself,
I don't even know how
to find my own shore.

We might go down together
in the last ditch effort
to hold onto each other
even if it's just to feel
the weight
of each other's bodies.

After all, they say
two drowning people
can't save each other.
