100 words Drabble A personal memory in place of prompt 22

Each autumn we had eight tons of firewood delivered for the winter. The three kids in the family hated this as they had to help move the wood, no excuses acceptable. The bonus was the bonfire, to cook the sausages later.
Every so often one or the other child would sneak away making some excuse or other. His twin sister was sent to find 10-year-old, Ben, when neither returned, I went in search of the absconders.
Ben was in the process of putting a lighted stick into a can of petrol! I covered my ears and ran. It didn’t explode.
