Short tales to inspire thought |
Handlers and Apples Once upon a time, on any today somewhere in the world, there was a bushel of freshly picked apples. They were crisp, and oh so juicy looking. As the bushel was being transported to the big barrel truck for distribution, an apple fell out and was tossed and kicked about. A handler saw the bruised apple, decided there was no such thing as waste and was sure the apple could be used somewhere down the line. The handler picked it up and added it to the big load. At the factory a handler saw the apple in the load, decided there was no such thing as waste and was sure the apple could be used somewhere. The handler tossed it into the barrel along with the other apples. At the market, a handler upon inspecting the barrel, saw the apple and was appalled at its bruises and appearance. This handler, not knowing the apple was still juicy, sweet, and could be used somewhere, decided the whole barrel was a waste and discarded them all. Are you a handler with hope, a handler with fear, or an apple? ~Seeds for Thought © Copyright 2017 A. Carmen Stewart (stewart_412 at Writing.Com). All rights reserved.
