let's talk about the time when you're already overwhelmed, double down on thinking |
"Will I rise up to the occasion? Do I have what it takes or am I going to face obliteration? Not that I mind failing in front of others But in front of so many people? that's a lot of potential reminders" Stage fright, is what some may call that feeling To others it's just yet another doubt added to the pile that causes their kneeling But why this one in particular sucks even more? Simple: because despite reassurances it still forces your morale to fall right through the floor But can you be blamed? with high stakes may come high rewards, but also potentially huge losses Taking the risk is a useful skill, yet a certain level of fear is better than diving head on to remember what a destructive loss is The long sentences aren't helping in your case you say? Sure, I'll make them shorter. nor promises, but for now that sounds like the better way For starters: drink some water, it helps to refresh and reload Relax your breath, take a deep one and then release it slowly, don't hold Feeling better? that's a start Now focus, time to relieve your heart I won't ask you about your belief, but repeat the words that bring you peace Remember why you're here, the first step for doubts to cease Done? great! now remember where you're going, and why is this place a stop in your life For friends? brothers? sisters? father? mother? husband or wife? Or maybe just for yourself? nothing wrong in that at all And whatever the case, whatever the result: what matters is that you stand proud and tall You did what you can, to the best of your ability that's what I'll assume You're not here for no reason or due to charity: this place is yours to rise and bloom Maybe you're not enough, I'll even go the distance and say you're trash! "Take your dreams to the wall and give them a big smash!" I can tell you all of that and more, and I bet you can tell yourself worse things But for any of us to rightfully say that you should first give yourself a chance to try It's a thousand times better than unanswered doubts For certainty, even in failure, is better than delusions that you may fly with up high Now go, claim your destiny No escaping the inevitable whether it's misery, or good old sweet glory. |
